🏈Favre Goes to Court, Reveals Medical Diagnosis

Hall of Fame quarterback Brett Favre spoke in front of the United States Congressional Ways and Means Committee yesterday, and he revealed a shocking medical diagnosis.

Favre has been in the news a lot recently for his financial involvement in Prevacus, a medical company making a concussion drug that received $2 million in temporary assistance funds. Favre was a top investor in Prevacus, and text messages show he began asking state officials for help securing funds for the company in November of 2018.

During his hearing, Favre revealed he has recently been diagnosed with Parkinson’s, a disease that affects the brain and can cause a variety of extremely serious and debilitating health issues.

Prevacus founder, Jacob VanLandingham, was one of many who used Mississippi welfare money to pay for things not associated to his company. Favre is part of that ongoing case due to his potential illegal use of welfare money. Favre is accused of using the $1.1 million he received from the state as payment for speaking engagements he never made.

🏈 What’s Happening in Dallas?

The Dallas Cowboys have been struggling out of the gate this season. After a Week 1 win, they’ve gotten the breaks beaten off them by the Saints and the Ravens, who both have come out flat in separate games. What’s happening in Dallas?

There’s a lot to unpack here. If anybody watched their game against the Ravens, you saw how ugly it looked for the first three quarters. Ceedee Lamb and Dak seemed to be way off, the defense couldn’t stop anything, and every time the camera panned to DC Mike Zimmer, he seemed to be scratching his head.

Dallas is an easy team to pick on. You turn on any sports show, and there will be a Cowboys segment. Steven A. Smith will probably be making fun of them, and then there will be a clip of Jerry Jones saying something cryptic about one of his stars.

I’ve got a question. Who’s the leader of the Dallas Cowboys? Is it their Quarterback? Their superstar WR? Is it Micah Parsons? When you think of the top tier of teams in the NFL there’s ‘the guy’ I don’t know who that is on the Cowboys!

The Boys are 1-2 and their next 5 games are the Giants, Steelers, Lions, 49ers, and Falcons. They better figure it out fast or else it could get BUGLY!

🏀 WNBA Juggernauts Advance!

The Playoffs have started, and just like that, the New York Liberty and Las Vegas Aces have both advanced to the semifinals. They are set for collision on Sunday! Here’s what happened last night.

If you want to talk about star power, there was a lot of that last night. The first matchup had the Atlanta Dream in a win-or-go-home game against the Liberty. Alisha Gray kept the Dream in it for a long time, but Sabrina Ionescu’s 36, Jonquel Jones’ 20, and Breanna Stewart’s 13 were way too much for Atlanta. Sweet Dreams! Liberty Advance!

NEXTTT.

The nightcap was the Aces and the Storm. A whole lot of the same. Nneka Ogwumike and company put up a fight, but Kelsey Plum’s 29 and A’ja Wilson’s 24 were too much. We now have a rematch from last season’s WNBA Finals! The Aces are the back-to-back champs and took care of business against the Liberty last year. Game 1 is on Sunday!

We’ve got the Fever on today at 7:30 PM ET down 0-1 against the Sun. Followed by the Lynx up 1-0 against the Mercury.

🏈Dan Campbell Has to Move

Not EVERYTHING about being famous is the best, especially when you have to move because of your daughter’s classmate. Take this story about Detroit Lions head coach Dan Campbell as an example.

The Campbell family had to pack up and move out of their Bloomfield Township, Michigan home following their home address being publicly leaked by a classmate of their daughter.

Numerous amounts of police reports show that multiple people showed up at the Campbell household following the Lions’ loss to the 49ers in the NFC Championship Game. Their daughter was in the house while people screamed and approached the home.

I just can’t believe what people will do just because of a game. Y’all need to relax. Especially Detroit. This guy has literally saved your franchise after years of being a laughingstock in the NFL. He is your chance at another Super Bowl appearance.

Nobody knows the limits when it comes to this stuff anymore. What if I showed up at your home and booed you after you accidentally sent ‘reply all’ to a company-wide email? How would you like that? Grow up, people!

🏀 No ‘I’ in Team! What does this mean for Boston?

Jayson Tatum is coming off leading the Celtics in the NBA finals in points (25), rebounds (9.7), and assists (6.3) per game. He did this yet was bypassed for the Finals MVP award. He then was a limited factor in the Olympics. What’s next?

It’s a great time to be a Celtics fan. The boys just won their first NBA Finals since 2008, they’ve got a great core and are the favorites to win it again this upcoming season as well. When asked about Tatum’s last couple of months, head coach Joe Mazzulla was happy. Tatum said, “Joe was probably the happiest person in the world that I didn’t win Finals MVP and then I didn’t play two of the games in the Olympics…It was odd, but if you know Joe, it makes sense.”

Nothing like a chip on your shoulder coming off of an NBA Championship. The Celtics seemed to bulldoze through the postseason this past season, we’ll see what this chip does for them in the 2024-25 season!

Trivia Answer:

C. 82! The 2005 San Diego Padres managed to muster an 82-80 record and SQUEEZE into the playoffs. They happened to be the only team in the NL West with a winning record. I wish there was a charming story here, but the Padres were swept out of the playoffs in three games.
