Those don’t happen all that often, so it's an absolute treat to get that as we wind down October! A lot of action from yesterday. 🥊 On this day in 1960, Cassius Clay takes part in his first professional fight. The fighter would eventually be known as Muhammed Ali.

On that day he defeats Tunney Hunsaker on points in 6 rounds in Louisville, Kentucky. It was his first of 56 wins at the professional level.

A lot of attention is paid to the male Ballon d’Or, but the female side has an incredibly compelling story of a soccer superstar from humble beginnings.

The soccer world turned their eyes to Paris, France last night to celebrate some of the best in the game. The award celebrates the player deemed to have performed the best over the previous season. For male soccer players, the award has been around for decades. For the women, the award started in 2018. Last night, Aitana Bonmati was given the honor for the second time in her career.

The 26-year-old Spanish midfielder is living out her dream of representing the Spanish country and Barcelona. Bonmati and Spain won the inaugural UEFA Nations League tournament this past summer, while she won the LIGA F league with Barcelona.

Bonmati ripped off an unreal quote after accepting the award, “I’m a village girl. I live when I was born, and I came with my friend Maria, who accompanies me everywhere. I’m the same person who played for the village team, and that’s what makes me happy.”

It’s so awesome to hear that one of the best in the soccer world is so down to earth. She lives in the same village she grew up in and just hangs out with her friend Maria, that’s pretty sick. It’s honestly so wholesome. She doesn’t care about the bright lights and the fame, she just loves the sport.

You may have never heard of Aitana Bonmati before this article, but not only is she a good person off the pitch, she’s an absolute DAWG on it. Not only is she considered one of the best in the world, she’s considered one of the best to ever do it. Oh, and she’s only 26.

🏈 Monday Night Football: The Pittsburgh Steelers move to 6-2 with a win over the New York Giants, 26-18! It was the Calvin Austin game. The 25-year-old had both of the Steelers TDs to help them get the win. The Giants fought hard, but costly turnovers ended up being the difference!

⚾ Game 3 of the World Series: Man. Tough sledding for Yankees fans right now. The Dodgers have taken a 3-0 series lead and are 1 game away from winning the World Series! It was a dominant performance from Walker Buehler on the mound, holding the Yankees to 2 hits in 5 innings. A Freddie Freeman HR in the first made it his FIFTH straight WS game with an HR! Unreal! The Yankees just looked flat all game and a 2-run HR with one strike left in the ninth was window-dressing on a dreadful performance from the offense. Dodgers win, 4-2!

⚽ Manchester City and Spain soccer star Rodri won the Ballon d’Or yesterday, awarded at a ceremony in France. The award honors the player who had the best individual year in the game of soccer, including club and international play. Rodri not only won the Premier League with Man City, but was a part of the Euro Cup winning Spain team. Rodri was named the player of the tournament in the Euro Cup, as well. Brazilian Vinicius Jr. was considered by many as the favorite.

🏀 Orlando Magic star Paolo Banchero dropped an UNREAL 37 points in the first half of last nights game against the Indiana Pacers, an Orlando Magic record. Banchero finished the game with 50 total points, the first 50-burger of the season in the NBA. It was the first time since Tracy McGrady in 2004 that a Magic player scored more than 50 points. Paolo is HIM!
