ON THIS DAY🗓️

On this day in 1976 —

The Chicago White Sox attempted what is known as one of the worst uniform changes in MLB history when they came out onto the field wearing… SHORTS!

No baseball pants, tight shorts with high socks. Knees exposed and all. I can’t imagine the pain those guys felt when they slide into a base.

Here’s a video of the shorts in action: LINK

What Caught Our Eye👀

STUMP STORY OF THE DAY✍️

16-Year-Old Quincy Wilson! An OLYMPIAN!

Saturday could be one for the history books for USA Track and Field in the Olympics, all because of Quincy WIlson!

What a week for the United States Track and Field in Paris!

Just to recap:

  • Cole Hocker pulled off the major STUMPSET beating out World Champions and reigning Gold medalists in the Men’s 1500m. It was one of the most electric finishes you will (‘one of’ is key) ever see! Hocker would have been happy to reach the podium but instead he caught a second, third, and fourth wind down the stretch to take home the GOLD!

  • The outspoken Noah Lyles won the GOLD in the Men’s 100m in a photo finish over the field

  • In another one of the most epic finishes you will see, Quincy Hall held off a stumble for almost 50m and took home the GOLD in the Men’s 400m

  • Sydney McLaughlin broke her own World Record in the Women’s 400m Hurdles by 3 tenths of a second and took home a GOLD Medal as well!

I mean that could be the story alone! The fact that the United States has put on an absolute show on the track. We’re going to hone in on somebody not mentioned yet, and that’s Quincy Wilson.

The United States has competed in Olympic Track and Field events for 128 years and Quincy has broken a record. He is the youngest in American history to compete in Track and Field. Some sports are those that just come with age. You have to be a little bigger, stronger, faster than everybody else and that’s something you get in your 20s.

Quincy has bypassed that completely as a part of the Men’s 4×400m relay. Yesterday he ran a leg in the race and set the age record. Lineups are subject to change for Saturday’s final, but right now he is in the lineup to take part in that race as well.

He’s no stranger to big races. Earlier this summer in the Olympic Trials he broke the Under 18 World Record for 400m times. He finished 6th overall in the trials and was selected for the 4×400m relay.

To be completely honest the 4×400m was not at the top of list before hearing about this but I can’t wait to tune in and see what the youngster’s got!

JUICE STATION🧃

Quote of the Day

“Every game I’ve ever played, regardless if it was pre-season or Super Bowl, meant the same, and I laid it all on the line.”

Brett Favre

Brett, inject this quote into my VEINS, preseason football is STILL FOOTBALL!

Song of the Day

One of these Nights

Eagles

Beautiful transition into the weekend, enjoy this tune as you’re heading into or home from work, it’s gonna be a good one!

Glue Guy of the Day

Defined: Glue Guy (Noun, Verb, Adj., etc.) - a person, thing, idea, or thought that holds together the larger group. Not the star, not the main character, but a hard hat and lunch pale type who knows its role. The GLUE of the group.

Stress Ball

Maybe Shapes, Sizes, Colors

Every once and awhile I find myself in need of a stress ball, and every single time it hits the spot!
