🎹 New Baseball Tradition

There’s nothing like a ball game in the summer. The sounds, the smells, the view, it’s a beautiful thing. A lot of the traditions you see today weren’t always around, even the iconic organ!
On this day in 1941, an organ is played for the first time inside a MLB stadium. The Chicago Cubs were the first to ever do it at Wrigley Field, and now you can hear the beautiful sounds of an organ in just about every stadium across the MLB.

Draft Day Part 2
🗞️ Storylines from Rounds 2 & 3

Shough > Sanders: The slide for Shedeur Sanders kept rolling in the second round despite rumors swirling that the Saints and Sanders were destined to be together. That dream died when the New Orleans Saints selected Louisville QB Tyler Shough with the 40th overall pick. With Derek Carr’s future in New Orleans uncertain, the keys to the franchise may be given to Shough. New Saints head coach Kellen Moore got his guy, and twice passed on Sanders, so maybe it was never Sanders to New Orleans.
Sanders Slide Starts To Get Weird: I get why Sanders is sliding, but once the Browns selected Dillon Gabriel and the Seahawks took Jalen Milroe, things started to get weird. I’m not sure what the Browns saw in Gabriel over Sanders, but they definitely saw something that made them go with the lefty from Oregon. Milroe has obvious upside and can be a stud in this league, but Gabriel is 5’11” and really struggled against high level competition in the bigger games. Sanders enters the last day of the draft without a home, where will he land this afternoon??
The Will Johnson Amber Alert Cancelled: For many NFL Draft analysts, Michigan CB Will Johnson was a top 10 prospect and a slam dunk first round pick. Well, after some concerns for his knee were brought up during the draft process, Johnson’s draft stock started to slip. With the 47th pick in the draft, Johnson was selected by the Arizona Cardinals. If his knee truly is healthy, this is an absolute steal for Arizona. Johnson was the consensus second best corner in the draft, but ended up being the 6th defensive back off the board. Need some motivation? He’s got it.

🏈 Steelers Draft Pick Harmon’s Mother Passes Following His Selection
Draft night is almost always an extremely exciting night, but for many, it gets emotional. For Steelers first-round pick Derrick Harmon, emotions were at an all-time high as his mother passed away shortly after his selection to Pittsburgh. Our hearts are out to Harmon, I simply can’t imagine the rollercoaster of emotions going on in his life. His mother, Tiffany Saine, suffered a stroke in 2022 that left her paralyzed on her left side and had been on life support. Harmon spoke of his mother often during the draft process, gaining strength from her resiliency and strength throughout her battle amid multiple brain injuries. Following his selection last night, he left his draft party and drove to see his mother. Shortly after he arrived and he told her of his selection, she passed. Thoughts and prayers to Derrick and his whole family.
🏀 NBA Playoffs
Magic def. Celtics, 95-93: If you were one of those people who were complaining about how bad some of these first round series have been in the Eastern Conference, then you were finally given a show in this one last night. The Celtics were without their guard Jrue Holiday, but honestly, that’s no excuse when you have Derrick White and Payton Pritchard to fill his role. The Magic were absolutely lethal on the defensive side of the ball, and Banchero and Wagner got enough help on the offensive side of the ball to keep it a game. The Celtics had a chance to tie it late after crawling back into this one, but the Magic take game three on their home court. Even if the Celtics come out of here alive, they are going to be bruised and battered.
Bucks def. Pacers 117-101: Believe it or not, this one was the Gary Trent Jr. show in Milwaukee for the Bucks. Trent rattled home NINE three’s, tying a franchise record held by Ray Allen. Trent went for a total of 37 points, which would have been most of the team if it weren’t for Giannis who also happened to drop 37 points in the win. The Bucks really needed this one and their home court, bringing the series to 2-1.
Timberwolves def. Lakers 116-104: Do not let the 12 point loss fool you, this thing was close until the closing seconds. Man, in the end it came down to what these tight playoff games usually come down to…making shots down the stretch. The Timberwolves made 3 threes late, and the Lakers did not. LeBron had an unreal 38 and 10, and Luka had an underwhelming 17 points. To win this series, he will no doubt have to go off. This series is getting GOOD!
