On this day in 1984, Apple Computer Inc. unveiled its revolutionary Macintosh personal computer! Now I know what you’re thinking, what does this have to do with sports?

The commercial releasing it to the world was first shown during the SUPER BOWL! Imagine being a couple of cold beverages deep and some voice on the TV is telling you you can have your own computer now. Shocked the world didn’t go up in flames.

🏈 What is Going on in Jacksonville?

Good gracious. Can someone make up their mind????

Two days ago the whole league was praising Tampa Bay Buccaneers offensive coordinator Liam Coen after he took himself out of the running for the head coaching job with the Jaguars in Jacksonville. Now, it looks like he’s back in the running, and shockingly enough, is the front runner.

I guess this would be fine and dandy in a lot of instances, especially when you’re discussing such a career changing move. What’s weird about this is all the chess pieces being moved around right now. Shortly after removing himself from the Jaguars position, Coen agreed to a new contract and an extension with the Bucs, one that would make him the highest paid coordinator in the entire NFL. A pretty heavy commitment by the Bucs to keep their guy and Coen cashes in without the responsibility of a head coach. Everyone wins, right?

Wrong. When Coen took himself out of the race and signed the new shiny contract, the Jaguars were most likely pissed. So pissed, in fact, that Jaguars owner Shad Khan fired their general manager Trent Baalke. This is the same Khan who said it would be “suicide” if the franchise were to fire their GM and head coach in the same offseason. It looks like the Jags are willing to commit organization suicide for Coen.

With Baalke gone, Coen stepped back to the negotiating table in Jacksonville. Latest reports that a deal is imminent, and Coen will be the next head man in Jacksonville. I honestly can’t remember this weird of a coaching hire.

The guy pulls out, signs a new contract, so the other team fires their GM, and now he’s interested again. Was former Jags GM Trent Baalke that bad of a guy? Or do the Jaguars know something nobody else knows about Liam Coen? Or does Coen have some sort of dirt on Shad Khan? I don’t know anything, all I know is NOTHING is ever easy when it comes to Jacksonville.

⚽️ The NWSL is expected to announce their next franchise next week, and it looks like it’s in the Mile High City. That’s right, Denver is being awarded the 16th National Women’s Soccer League franchise next week. This comes just weeks after Boston was awarded the 15th franchise. NWSL commissioner Jessica Berman went on record yesterday saying that the league is “not done” in their pursuit to add more franchises. Both Denver and Boston are expected to be fully operational and compete come the 2026 season.

🎾 An American upset city in Australia! American (19) Madison Keys completed the comeback against (2) Iga Swiatek to advance to the finals. Keys rallied and was even down to match point, but was able to fight her way to victory. Keys, 29, will meet the world number one in the finals, Aryna Sabalenka. Sabalenka is on a historic run, winning the US Open, the gold medal in Paris, and also appearing in the last two Australian Open finals. It will be an extremely tough match for Keys as Sabalenka is undoubtedly playing the best tennis of her career right now, but if anyone can do it, it’s the tenacious Keys.
