On this day in 1910, US President William Howard Taft threw out the 1st pitch at the ballpark, becoming to first President to ever partake in this honor. The game was played at National Park in Washington, DC, between the Washington Senators and the Philadelphia Athletics.

🟣 The Golden State Valkyries
I was sleeping at the wheel because I completely forgot that the Valkyries were officially a team now in the WNBA! Yesterday the draft happened ans I was like, “Oh yeah that happened!”
Yesterday was a big day for the WNBA! Paige Bueckers went No. 1 overall to the Dallas Wings, and the Golden State Valkyries, the WNBA’s newest expansion team, were apart of their first draft! They had the 5th, 17th, and 30th picks in the draft.
So how does an expansion team come about, and what does this mean for the leagu?
Well an expansion team means good things. This means the WNBA is on the up and up, and that there are now more roster spots, coaches, and fans of the league. Golden State is a basketball area due to the Warriors, and the teamup between the two will no doubt bring a fanbase to the team.
I’ve always thought that this is fascinating, but the way an expansion team creates a roster is this…
They pick players from all 12 other teams! Obviously they aren’t allowed to pick every great player, so the 12 teams get to protect 6 of their players. From this, the Valkyries were allowed to assemble their roster of 12.
We now have 13 teams in the W, and a new team to look out for! I’ll tell ya what, I kinda dig this purple vibe we’ve got going on! Shoutout to Husky Alum Kaitlyn Chen for being their 30th overall pick yesterday! Great to see!

⛳️ Masters Aftermath
Nothing too long here, but just have to share that the 24 hour reaction to the Masters across mainstream sports media is that this past Sunday maybe was one of the wildest days in golf! And this Masters tournament was one of the best of all time. Yes, of course we are stuck in the moment, but still it was no doubt a tournament for the ages! If you haven’t seen some of Rory’s presser, it’s worth a skim! HERE!
One more thing that I was upset we didn’t mention yesterday. Justin Rose. It’s no wonder why all of his peers say that he is one of the best guys there is. The way he handled the loss, the words he said in his post round interviews just minutes after losing another heartbreaker, he exudes class! Justin Rose may not have the following that some of the other guys do, but I am now a Justin Rose fan for life! 🌹
🏀 Budenholzer Gone in Phoenix After 1 Year
I’ll tell you what…coaches already know this but man they have the shortest leash in the world. If players make a mistake, they get fined, they apologize, whatever. If a coach doesn’t show results instantaneously, they are gone!
Just a few seasons after winning a championship with the Milwaukee Bucks, Mike Budenholzer has been let go from his second team, the Phoenix Suns. It was no doubt a dissapointing year for them, going 36-46 somehow with Kevin Durant and Devin Booker. I’m not quite sure how that happens, and I guess that is why Budenholzer is gonezo, but still, a tough scene in the NBA coaching world!
