⚽️ Professional Football in Bulgaria

The early 1900s saw international futbol start to flourish all over Europe, and in 1912, the craze finally made its way into the country of Bulgaria.
On this day in 1912, the club Botev Plovdiv was founded in the Botev, Bulgaria. It is the country’s oldest active football club, and currently competes in the Bulgarian Parva Liga, the top league flight in the country. The team just opened a brand new stadium in 2023 in the city of Plovdiv, the oldest living city in all of Europe. The more you know…

The Cinderella That Almost Was
🔵 The Delaware Blue Hens

A Stumpdate on one of the craziest stories in this first half of March, the Delaware Blue Hens.
Not going to lie to you all. For a team that I just learned about 48 hours ago, man was I crushed when the clock struck zeroes in the CAA Championship last night and Delaware was sent packing.
I know we went over this yesterday, but again…
They were the #12 seed in the conference, this was their 5th game in 5 days. They had already taken down (13) Stony Brook, (5) Campbell, (4) W&M, and (1) Towson. Funny enough, the closest out of these 4 games was a 4-point win against Stony Brook.
What was magical about these guys was that they stunk in the regular season. They lost 12 of their last 13 games, and nobody outside of their own locker room thought they would make a run in their tourney, well they did.
Last night they fell to UNC Wilmington 76-72. Freshman Izaiah Pasha and Senior Niels Lane were monsters for the Fightin’ Blue Hens all tourney. Could they have gotten absolutely smoked in the first round if they advanced? Absolutely. Could there also have been Madness? Absolutely.
Here’s to the Cinderella team that could’ve been! It was an absolute pleasure to watch you guys play!
This all being said…
As said on yesterday’s program…Kyler Filewich on Wofford might turn this month UPSIDE-DOWN! So ready for this thing to get started!

🤕 Tiger Down With Achilles Injury
Man this one almost made me cry real tears. Tiger Woods underwent surgery yesterday after rupturing his left Achilles tendon while training and practicing at home. The surgery reportedly went well, and doctors expect a full recovery. Tiger had recently just started to ramp up his training to make his return to the PGA Tour and some upcoming events, but that’s obviously out the window. The timetable for his return in unknown, but last year legendary golfer Bernhard Langer had a similar injury and returned three months later. A summer return is not out of the question, but who really knows. All we care about is Tiger recovering and getting back to full health.
