🏀 On this day in 1987, the NBA dropped a BOMB on the sports world when they announced that 4 new franchises would be entering the league in the coming years: Charlotte and Miami were set to join in 1988, and Minneapolis and Orlando in 1989.

The ‘Gold Glove’ award in Major League Baseball celebrates the gritty side of baseball, playing defense. Yesterday, the winners for this past year were announced and there are some fresh faces.

I love the Gold Glove. In today’s day and age in baseball, where all you hear about is exit velocity, home runs, and hitting, the Gold Glove celebrates the other side of America’s pastime. Each league has one Gold Glove winner at each position, which even includes a pitcher! The award is voted on by all MLB managers and six total coaching staff members on each club.

This year, it was especially cool. There were fourteen first-time winners! That’s pretty awesome. We saw the same number of first-time winners in 2022, which also just happened to be a great year for baseball.

It’s safe to say that the FUTURE of the MLB Golden Glove trophy is in good hands with some of the young guns on this list.

🏈 MNF: A bit of a snoozer between the Vikings and Colts. Sam Darnold threw TDs to Addison, Nailor, and Oliver, the obvious choices of course. Flacco magic may have stalled this week but don’t give up hope, we might still be on to something.

🏀 NBA 3-Game Slate: The Mavs, Hawks, and Pistons each got Sunday wins! Luka dropped 32 for the Mavs, Jalen Johnson had a near triple-double for the Hawks, and 6 Pistons had more than 13 points.

🏈 NFC Headliners: The nightcap was the Vikings barely getting by the Colts, but before that, we had a lot of NFC action! The Rams beat the Seahawks in OT, 26-20, with a D Rob CLUTCH TD! The NFC West is WIDE OPEN! The Lions took care of business in the Rain Bowl against the Packers. The Lions are an NFC best 7-1! The Falcons were able to win at home against Dallas, and Arizona, Washington, and Philly all got wins as well! Good day for most NFC teams. Except the Cowboys. It’s always except the Cowboys.

🏈 AFC Headliners: The Ravens and Bengals each put up 41 points in their respective W’s! Tyler Bass hit a 61-yarder with 3 seconds left on the clock for the Buffalo Bills to help get them to 7-2 over the Dolphins! Believe it or not, we almost had a tie between the Titans and Pats! Would have been so fitting! Instead, the Titans got the OT win, 20-17!
