On This Day…
⚾️ Babe Ruth Did What?!?!?

I’ve heard a lot of out there stuff…this one goes up there.
On this day in 1922, Babe Ruth was suspended for 1 game and fined a sum of $200 after he threw dirt at an umpire.
This is all I know about this one, but this cracks me up man. I can just picture more than 100 years ago a bad call being made and our guy at the plate just picking up a clump of dirt and absolute wailing the ump with it 😆

📰 Sunday With The Admin

The first month of writing this thing we call The Daily Stump, we both realized how much we really enjoyed writing. Obviously, we are a sports newsletter, but at our core all we wanna be are storytellers. Sports is a fun way to go about that. Today, here’s a non-sports one for you.
Instead, here’s something that happened to me this past week.
Had a lunch break earlier this week. Been on a bit of a health grind recently so there were a few options. In the neighborhood there’s a Just Salad, a DIG, a Chipotle, a Dos Toros, we’ve got a lot of good options. After debating for about 15 minutes leading up to the lunch break I thought I’d walk in that general direction and would go with a gut feeling.
On the walk over I happened to walk by a Panda Express. A weak man would cave. He would give in to the Panda. After a lot of thought…I said no sir. I kept walking.
Anyways I listened long and hard to my gut and it kept saying McFlurry. Luckily there was a McDonalds right in between the Just Salad and Chipotle, so I lucked out (I did get some veggies while I was there don’t worry)!
So here’s the meat and potatoes of the story. I did what I had to do, I found my table, I sat, I ate, I watched a youtube video, and by the end of it I was about 5 minutes away from getting out of there. There was a mother with a stroller roaming around looking for a table. I wasn’t fully packed up, and I had a few of my veggies still in front of me. So I quickly wolfed down the rest of those potato strips, or whatever you call them, and since it was packed I waved her down and told her I was leaving. She came over said thanks, and we went about our business.
I left the table a bit disorganized, with my umbrella, phone, garbage, and headphones all somehow in my hands. I regrouped at a nearby table and then went to the front of the establishment and got ready to leave. It suddenly started pouring so I thought I’d wait out the rain. I reached out in my pocket for my phone, and there was absolute nothing.
I did the double pocket tap panic move when you’ve lost something, and before I could even start working my way back to the initial table, a man came up to me and handed me my phone, and then gave me a little pat or the arm. No words, just a pat. I gave him a “you’re the man”!
Seconds after this the guy was heading for the door, and somebody in front of him, held the door for him to leave before they entered.
Yes, this is over dramatic, but it was the quickest set of karma I have ever seen. It was a circle of good deeds. This guy could have absolutely stolen that phone, but I got lucky and it was a goat, so he found me and gave it back, and then someone could have closed the door on his face, but they waited an extra 3 seconds to hold it for him.
Alright, the end of my Sunday soap box. Put good things out into the universe, and hopefully good things will come back around! It all evens out!
It’s a long weekend Sunday, if you opened up the Stump and then got to the end of this story too, you’re unreal! Appreciate it a lot! If you enjoyed this shoot us an email or a text if we should do more of these!
Happy Sunday, and here’s to good deeds!

🏀 Timberwolves Destroy Thunder in Game 3
This one was a bloodbath! If you asked me to sum up this game in three words…I would simply say: Minnesota Timberwolves.
Had a feeling these boys wouldn’t go down without a fight. Last year they got taken down seifting in this round by the Mavs, there’s no way they go down easy again. They got back home, in front of their home crowd, and they went off. ANT MAN had 30, Randle had 24, both on great percentages which is important.
After those two five more guys scored in double digits! That is the recipe for success against good teams, the reall good teams that is. You need to win not by an. individual, but by a squadron! That’s what they got last night.
⛳️ Charles Schwab Challenge Leaderboard
Well today is the final day of the Charles Schwab Challenge down there in Fort Worth, Texas. So it’s only right that we take a look at where we stand before we crown a winner. A lot of cool things could happen by the end of the day…
T1 - Ben Griffin (-13)
T1 - Matti Schmid (-13)
3 - Rickie Fowler (-9)
T4 - Akshay Bhatia (-8)
T4 - Nick Hardy (-8)
T4 - Robert Macintyre (-8)
T7 - Scottie Scheffler (-7)
A lot going on here. Some unfamiliar names up here for sure, but that could mean we have a new face on the winners circle, or maybe a guy who hasn’t been up there in a while, or maybe the greatest golfer in the world does something absolutely heroic! A lot can happen!
