STUMP STORY OF THE DAY✍️

Team USA: Mission Complete

The avengers of the NBA assembled, and they went to the promised land!

We’ve talked a LOT about this United States team for months, but the run has finally came to an end. Fortunately, this squad is going home Gold Medalists. It was such an intriguing team in so many ways, so lets break it down a little.

This team had such an obvious hunger. For a team full of highly paid, highly successful, and unreal talent, I’d argue the most impressive thing about this team was how bad they wanted it.

Since the United States lost in the FIBA World Cup last year, there was a very real chip on the shoulders of the NBAs biggest stars. LeBron, Curry, and KD all tweeted their commitment to the 2024 Olympic team shortly following that loss, and the Avengers slowly started to assemble. For those who don’t know, many of the biggest stars in the NBA didn’t play on the FIBA team. So, the 2024 Olympic team was very different looking.

Steph Curry, the greatest shooter in NBA history, was missing just one last thing in his unreal career: A Gold Medal. Curry looked like a starving dog on the court. And boy oh boy, when it mattered most, Curry showed up. He was the absolute man down the stretch.

LeBron James, in his epic return to the Olympic stage, was a leader of men. He was beyond locked in from day one. He played like a star in his last run on the big international stage. He did everything he had to do for this team. I can’t remember the last time I saw him so fired up to play basketball. He looked like a different human. LeBron of old. He was the GOAT when USA needed him most.

KD became the leading scorer in Team USA history, and came back from injury just in time for him to be a force off the bench. He was effortless, clutch, intense, everything we come to expect from one of the best scorers to even touch the hardwood.

So many more guys played big roles on this team, or had massive moments to help get this team back on top. Again, most impressively, this team was full of stars, but looked like guys playing like they’ve never won anything before. The leadership on this team was unreal.

This team showed flashed of perfect basketball, it was an honor to watch these guys play basketball at the highest level of all time.

Quote of the Day

“It’s not pressure unless you are not prepared”

Colin Kaepernick

This one makes me feel like I’ve been prepared for nothing. Not good for my anxiety.

Song of the Day

In the Air Tonight

Phil Collins

This plays every night in my head as I fall asleep. I can feel it coming, that’s right.

Glue Guy of the Day

Defined: Glue Guy (Noun, Verb, Adj., etc.) - a person, thing, idea, or thought that holds together the larger group. Not the star, not the main character, but a hard hat and lunch pale type who knows its role. The GLUE of the group.

The TV Remote Batteries

Endlessly Useful

Never once do the TV remote batteries seem to run out of juice. But they’re most valuable when you need those AA batteries in another item.
