⛳️ Scottie's Day to Shine
He's the best in golf, can he pull off another Major win?
Good Morning, Stumpers!
It’s Sunday, but not just ANY Sunday. It’s a Sunday where we have a PGA Champion named, a game seven winner in the NBA and the NHL, and we even have the Subway Series on national TV. What’s better than that? Who’s got it better than us? NOOOOOOOOBBBBBOOOODDDDYYYYYY.

😂 Free Throws… Blindfolded!

For the average basketball player, making 10 free throws in a row would be difficult. But this guy John said I can do more than that, I can even do it blindfolded. It sounds like a grade school comeback, but it’s true.
On this day in 1972, American basketball player John Sebastian makes 63 consecutive free throws while blindfolded. Now, I don’t know why or how this came about, but I do know this, this guy has deadly accuracy. John was part of a touring basketball team that played against the Harlem Globetrotters. He is a member of the Southern Illinois University Hall of Fame!

⛳️ Texas Takes Lead over Vegas

Yeah, yeah. Maybe the title was a bit of a reach. But I liked it and I decided to stick with it. Day 3 review, day 4 preview coming hot off the press.
Scottie was shootin it, Tex. Scheffler’s big move came three quarters into his round on the 14th tee box, when he fired a drive on the Par 4 304-yard hole to just a few feet of the hole. A tap-in eagle. That was his breakthrough. Scottie played the final five holes of his round at five under, good enough to take and then stretch the lead to three shots. He gave this tournament the star power it desperately needed. Scottie will play with Alex Noren of Sweden in the final grouping tomorrow, teeing off at 2:40 PM.
Jon Rahm had the third best round of the day, a round that was laced with birdies from beginning to end. He currently sits five back of Scottie in a tie for fifth. Johnny Vegas, the lead going into the weekend, struggled to make big putts all dang day and finished with a disappointing +2.
We saw absolute magic from Bryson DeChambeau, who at one point, sat at the top of the leaderboard by himself. But at the same time that Scottie was surging, Bryson was shying away. After getting all the way up to -8 heading into the famous Green Mile (holes 16, 17, and 18 at Quail Hollow), it was downhill from three. Bryson played the last three holes +3, ending the day at -5 and six shots off the lead.
Here’s the deal, folks. I can sit here and talk about the guys sitting a few back of Scottie all day long, but honestly, that seems like a waste of time. We all know what this comes down to, how hot will Scottie get? I mean, he holds all the cards. If he continues his good play, there’s no shot anyone catches up to him. Even if he just plays average for himself, nobody’s catching him. Scottie played an ugly round on Friday for his standards, and he still shot 3-under par. There’s no stopping this man when he’s playing good golf. Something looked like it finally clicked for him yesterday, and I can’t imagine a world where Scottie doesn’t come out firing again.

🏀 Chippy Season Opener in WNBA
I think it’s safe to say that the distaste for each other is still there between Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese.
After a long offseason, the two former college rivals reminded us that just because they aren’t WNBA rookies anymore does NOT mean that they can’t take their rivalry to the next level. Clark, looking to stop from getting a wide-open layup, tried to strip her of the ball and maybe gave her a little shove, Reese fell to the ground. She got up quick to go after Clark, but Caitlin had already walked away. The chippiness on the court did not translate into a dogfight on the court, however. Clark's new-look Indiana Fever squad came out hot with 4 players scoring more than 15 points. Clark dropped a triple-double in her 32 minutes played, 20 points, 10 boards, 10 assists. She led all scorers. The Fever dominated all game long on both ends of the court, 93-58 Fever.
⚾️ Twins are RED Hot ; Win 13th Straight
Not enough attention is being given to what’s going on in the Twin City right now.
You hear about the Yankees, Dodgers, Padres, Mets, yada yada yada, but what the Twins are doing right now is extremely notable. Yesterday’s 7-0 win over the Milwaukee Brewers is Minnesota’s 13th straight victory, and their third straight shutout. This is the longest win streak by the ball club since 1991, the year they won a World Series. The Twins haven’t allowed a run since the third inning of their Wednesday win over the Orioles, which makes 33 straight scoreless innings. This is their longest scoreless inning streak since moving to Minnesota in 1961. Obviously, when you don’t give up a lot of runs, you don’t really need to score a lot. But that’s not the case, the bats are hot for the boys. They’re getting help from up and down the lineup, even while their star Carlos Correa continues to struggle. Don’t forget about this team, they’re making sure you won’t.
🏇 Journalism Bounces Back at Preakness
After a runner-up Derby finish, Journalism gets back on track with a big win at the 150th running of the Preakness Stakes.
The favorite of the Kentucky Derby, who lost a heartbreaker less than a month ago, burst through the last 100m to get a huge win. Journalism came into this race as the favorite again, but his win was in doubt during the last stretch. Journalism was bumped by Goal Oriented near the quarter pole, and second-place looked like a sure bet. The powerful horse caught his footing and burst past leader Gosger to give him the win. The winning jockey, Umberto Rispoli, became the first jockey from Italy to win any of the Triple Crown faces. Derby’s winner Sovereignty did not take part in this race due to what his owners call “a quick turnaround”, instead the team puts their focus on the Belmont Stakes. This was the fifth time in seven years that the Preakness was contested without the Derby winner.
