🏎️ Danny Sullivan’s ‘Spin and Win’

With yesterday’s Indianapolis 500, it’s only right we flashback to one of the great moments in race history. We flashback to 1985…

On this day in 1985, Danny Sullivan won the Indy 500 by 24 seconds over Mario Andretti. It was what happened on Lap 120 that made the headlines. When battling with Andretti ahead of the pack, Sullivan did a full 360 spin in the middle of the track and was able to recover unfazed, truly unreal.

🟠 Knicks Show Life!

You know the saying, “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.” Well, it seemed liked Tom Thibodeau and the Knicks said… “IT IS BROKE. WE NEED TO FIX IT!”

The Knicks have gone through this entire postseason run on the backs of their five starters, and then Mitchell Robinson and Deuce McBride off the bench. The con of this strategy is that when your starters play 40+ minutes a game, down the stretch they can get gassed.

Yesterday, Thibs said to hell with that, and played 9 guys! And it very well could be said that last night the New York Knicks were only in a position to win because of guys like Landry Shamet, and Delon Wright. The Pacers went nuclear in the second quarter, turning a 4 point lead into a stadium shattering 20-point lead! The Knicks were playing sloppy, and the Pacers were sprinting up and down the court.

Not sure what Thibs said in the locker room, but he definitely wanted to see some new blood out there. In the third, when the lead was still at 16, the lineup out there for the Knicks was Delon Wright, Landry Shamet, Deuce McBride, Josh Hart, and Mitchell Robinson.

If you think about that lineup, it seems like one that would only be in during garbage time, but instead they were the ones who brought the game back to a 4 point game. They held down the fort!

They held it down and then it was The Big Bodega who went off in the fourth. The fact that Karl-Anthony Towns has become the Big Bodega is absolutely phenomenal. A nickname that just makes sense. He earned all of his flowers last night after scoring 20 POINTS IN THE FOURTH! He was scoring in the paint, he was hitting from beyond the arc, things were falling for KAT!

This was a must-win for the Knicks, they could not afford to go down 3-0. All the Pacers have done this postseason is complete epic comebacks, last night they got a taste of their own medicine, giving up a 20 point lead.

Game 3 is tomorrow, and all eyes will be back in Indiana! Knicks def. Pacers, 106-100 (IND leads series 2-1)

⛳️ Ben Griffin WINS Charles Schwab Challenge

Ben Griffin shot a 71 yesterday en route to a Final score of (-12) to get the one stroke win over Matti Schmid! This is his second victory in 5 starts, and first solo victory. His story is incredible.

We’ve mentioned this before, but Ben Griffin being where he is now in a true underdog story. He stopped chasing his dream in 2021 and got a regular office job, thinking that his days chadin his dream of becoming a professional golfer were over. He couldn’t take it, he set his sights on a return. It’s been a long journey back, through the Korn Ferry Tour and now on the PGA Tour, but after a great finish last week at the PGA Championship, and now a win this week. He has earned himself $2.1 million and proven to himself that every choice he made to come back was the right one! Great finish yesterday!

🏒 Oilers Thump Stars, 6-1

It was a goal fest for Edmonton on their home Ice for Game 3 of the Western Conference Finals. Zach Hyman and Connor McDavid each netted 2 on the way to a 6-1 ROUT of the Stars, and an overall 2-1 series lead. The Oilers have desperately been on a mission to get back to where they were last season, in the final 2! The Stars are the last team in there way to get back, and after a shaky third period in Game 1, they have come out firing in Games 2 and 3, outscoring them 9-1.
