On This Day…
🏆️ In 1901, the first-ever championship table tennis tournament was held at the London Royal Aquarium. The new sport was decreed by some as a passing fad, but more than a few people were invested enough for it to have a London Championship.
R.D. Ayling won the men’s tournament title, and the women’s tournament was won by the name of Vyvyan Eames. Ping-Pong ruled the day!
Today’s Stump Story…
🏈 Randy Moss Announces Battle with Cancer
Just in these last two weeks Randy Moss had been saying that he had been dealing with some ‘personal stuff’. He just revealed it.
For every NFL Sunday ESPN has its NFL Countdown show where the crew of Mike Greenberg, Randy Moss, Rex Ryan, Alex Smith, and Teddy Bruschi entertain us all for the entire morning. They always bring juice to the table and get us ready for Sunday football.
Just last Sunday Randy Moss quickly announced that he’d be wearing sunglasses because of something he was battling internally. He then entertained us all for two hours with his crew.
It was another example of how you never know what someone else is dealing with behind the scenes. Yesterday, Randy Moss went to Instagram Live and announced that he is battling cancer.
Per ESPN…
“Moss said a cancerous mass was found in his bile duct, between his pancreas and liver. He said he had surgery to put a stent in his liver on Thanksgiving and then underwent a 6-hour procedure about a week ago to remove the cancer. He said he was hospitalized for six days and released Friday.“
He said he is recovering and looking to get back on TV with his crew as soon as possible. There’s something just unreal about him still going on NFL Countdown last week despite going through all of this. Just shows the heart of a warrior.
No analysis needed here, just prayers up to an absolute legend. He said that he would have never thought something like this could happen to him because of how healthy he was.
Take a deep breath, acknowledge the air you’re breathing in. Look around, be thankful for the people you are around. It’s too easy to take things for granted, it’s important to take a step back sometimes.
Prayers up to Randy Moss! An absolute legend!

🏈 After Thursday nights disaster, when 49ers linebacker De’Vondre Campbell walked off the field in the middle of the game for no apparent reason, his days are numbered. Campbell simply decided to quit, and multiple players and coaching staff voiced their displeasure with Campbell’s decision. As of Friday morning, the Niners have not yet made something official as they try and figure out the best path to move on from Campbell.
✌️ MLB Trades from yesterday: The Chicago Cubs acquired Astros outfielder and perennial All-Star Kyle Tucker for Isaac Pareder and Hayden Wesneski. Tucker is 27 and is entering his final year of his contract, he’ll be the Cubs starting right fielder. The New York Yankees continued their busy offseason yesterday when they added two-time All-Star relief pitcher Devin Williams from the Brewers. Williams has secured himself as one of the most dominant relievers in all of baseball over the last five years, but has battled some injuries.
🏀 In Philly’s loss to the Indiana Pacers, Joel Embiid suffered a sinus fracture. He will be further evaluated this weekend for a timetable. Another tough break for Philly who are 7-16 and in 12th place in the Eastern Conference. Even after their players only meeting that went public, they just haven’t been able to piece it together. We’ll see where they go from here!
