On This Day
š Ducks Raise the Cup!

Thereās not many better uniforms in sports than the old Anaheim Ducks jerseys. Itās even better when a team with sweet uniforms is a winning team, thatās the pinnacle.
On this day in 2007, the Anaheim Ducks defeated the Ottawa Senators, 6-2 for a 4-1 series win to capture their first Stanley Cup in franchise history. This team was loaded with familiar names: Ryan Getzlaf, Chris Kunitz, Scott Niedermayer, Corey Perry (whoā still in the league), Dustin Penner, and their sharpshooter Teemu Selanne.

Glue Guy of the Day
š š” Inevitableā¦Carlisleās GUTS!

6/5/25 Glue OTD: Rick Carlisleās Guts!
I mean thereās just so much that will be unpacked from Game 1 of the NBA Finals last night. So much. This has gotten silly. This has gotten historic. This has gotten to the point where it could be called one of the single clutchest postseasons maybe of all time.
That all being said, thatās what you will be able to read everywhere else today. About last nightās game-winner from Tyrese Haliburton with 0.3 seconds to go in the game. The thing that I think needs to be talked about a little more is Head Coach Rick Carlisle, and well he seems to know his squad. Whenever these situations come up, he just lets his guys go, he doesnāt call a timeout, he doesnāt flinch, he just believes in the work that has been put in.
The guts to not call a timeout in a situation like that is unbelievable. If that shot doesnāt go down for Haliburton, thatās all the media is talking about for the next few days. āHow could he not call a timeout there? Itās the NBA Finals!ā No, none of that, because he knows what heās got, and also because he has some serious stones!
Kudos to you Coach!
The Guts of Rick Carlisle! GLUE!
Yesterdayās Moments

š Rodgers Signs on in Pittsburgh
The Stump Short Story: This one felt inevitable, as all of Aaron Rodgers suitors really seemed to go in other directions, especially in the days up to and after the draft. The wait finally ended yesterday, as the sure-fire hall of famer signed a one year deal with the Pittsburgh Steelers to be their QB for the 2025-2026 season. Rodgers, 41, mulled retirement throughout the offseason, but itās Pittsburgh for now.
Why it Matters: I mean, it matters, but also, what Rodgers are we getting here? The one that we saw in New York the last two years is not one that really puts you over the edge. But it does provide a suitable option with veteran savvy and leadership, something that Mike Tomlin obvious values. The Week 1 matchup between Justin Fields and the New York Jets versus Rodgers and the Steelers will be one to watch.
š¾ Coco Heads to the Final at Roland Garros
The Stump Short Story: In what will be a final of epic proportions, the top two-ranked players in the world will take stage. No. 1, Aryna Sabalenka will face off against world No. 2, Coco Gauff. Sabalenka, the 27-year-old from Belarus, had to defeat Iga Swiatek in the semis, she was riding a 26-match unbeaten streak at Roland Garros and the four-time defending champ of the French Open. Gauff overpowered the home French favorite, Lois Boisson, who was on a miracle ride to the semiās despite being the 361st ranked player in the world.
Why it Matters: In the world of womenās tennis, thereās probably not another name bigger than Coco Gauff. The 21-year-old from Atlanta, Georgia, has been tennisās shiny-new-star since she was 17. But her hype has not necessarily matched up with the results on the court. Her one grand slam win at the 2023 US Open has been overlooked by a myriad of disappointing losses on big stages. Despite all this, Coco has persisted. This will be her second finals appearance at Roland Garros, her first came in 2022 when she lost to Iga Swiatek. Which women, Gauff or Sabalenka, will take home their first French Open win on the clay?
