⚾️ In 1905, the first league-sanctioned baseball World Series began! The Philadelphia A’s (AL) took on the New York Giants (NL, and yes, we’re talking baseball), as the Giants won 3-0 in game 1 at Columbia Park. The Giants won the series 4 games to 1.
The A’s were managed by legendary baseball manager Connie Mack, while the Giants were led by John McGraw. NY’s Christy Mathewson pitched three shutouts in the span of six days!
