What Caught Our Eye👀

STUMP STORY OF THE DAY✍️

Vincent Hancock: Gold in his Veins

This guy may be the most DOMINANT Olympian you have never heard of, so take a quick minute and soak this story in…

When I think of dominant US Olympians my head usually goes to Michael Phelps, Simone Biles, Katie Ledecky, the US men’s basketball team, among others. Never before have I went thought to look at skeet shooting to find a dominant American Olympian, but it’s safe to say we do.

Vincent Hancock should be at the top of the list when it comes to dominating a sport at the highest level. In case you aren’t sure what Skeet Shooting is, or maybe you just need a quick reminder: it’s the one where there’s a clay disk, or “pigeons”, shot into the air and the shooter must track is down and shoot it down with a rifle.

If you were wondering where Vincent is from, you’d probably be able to guess it. He’s a Texan, through and through. Love our cowboys winning Gold.

This isn’t his first run in the Olympics either. Quite the contrary. Mr. Hancock has won the gold in Skeet Shooting in 2008, 2012, and 2021. Yep. He’s a four-time gold medalist in this event. They should rename the sport after this guy.

The coolest part of all of this, is the fact that he not only won gold, but he beat a close friend of his. Conner Prince, who not only is close with Hancock, is one of his students. Prince is in his first Olympics and will take home the Silver.

Prince knocked down 57/60 Clay Pigeons, while Hancock nailed 58. Hancock had two misses pretty close together in the middle of his round of 60, but managed to hit 26 targets in a row to secure the gold medal. Ice in his veins.

Despite competing in five Olympics already and winning his four golds in Skeet Shooting, Hancock is only 35 and has already committed to defending his gold in 2028 in Los Angeles.

I’m sure Hancock will have a tough battle waiting for him in LA as his student continues to improve, either way, I’m a big skeet shooting guy now.

JUICE STATION🧃

Quote of the Day

“Is Pepsi ok?”

Servers EVERYWHERE

I’m all about being polite but you know what sometimes Pepsi isn’t ok. That being said I respect everything Pepsi has done for the game and the servers who have to ask this question 10 times a day!

Glue Guy of the Day

Defined: Glue Guy (Noun, Verb, Adj., etc.) - a person, thing, idea, or thought that holds together the larger group. Not the star, not the main character, but a hard hat and lunch pale type who knows its role. The GLUE of the group.

Siri

Apple GLUE

Talk about a glue gal! Siri never makes it about herself. Classic example of staying ready at all times! You need a quick conversion of Farenheit to Celcius and she’s there!
