Western Conference Semi-Final Matchups Are Set!
The who’s who has been settled in the West, and boy does it feel like an official changing of any guard that remained. LeBron, out. KD, out. Harden, PG, and Russ, out. Who’s in? SGA and the youngest team in the league in OKC. Luka and the Mavs. Ant Edwards who put on an absolute clinic in Round 1. And the defending Champion Denver Nuggets with Jokic and Murray.
Today we get to see Game 1 between the Timberwolves and Nuggets. They split the season series at 2 a piece, but that can’t really tell you much as this is a completely different animal. Both these two teams just dismantled two solid teams with a lot of hype around them in the Suns and Lakers. The stars are the stars in this series, and that’s a given, but it’s the ‘others’ in this series which is going to make it phenomenal.
You’ve got award winners in Rudy Gobert and STUMP HERO Naz Reid on one side. Then you’ve got MIchael Porter Jr. and Aaron Gordon on the other side. We’ve got a full slate of talent on these two teams and we are in for a showdown. These two are arguably playing the two best brands of basketball right now, so get your popcorn and enjoy the show.
In the 1-4 matchup we’ve got the Thunder and the Mavs. I honestly have no clue what is going to happen here. The Thunder looked solid but they were playing a Zion-less Pelicans team. SGA is good for 30 a game, and then Chet and the J Will’s are going to do their thing. They could cause some serious problems for Dallas. Luka and Kyrie are a different beast from CJ McCollum and Brandon Ingram. And they are coming off great performances against the Clips.
These are two series’ that could genuinely go any way at all. Any of the 4 matchups would make sense.
Well, today marks the start of the Western Semis, and we’re in for a DOOZY!
