Let’s talk money bags in terms of GOLF! It was on this day in 1972, when the great Jack Nicklaus passed the also great Arnold Palmer in terms of all-time earnings from the sport of golf!

However, get this. In the 1972 U.S. Open, the purse (total prize fund) was $194,600. The winner received $30,000. In the 2024 U.S. Open, Sam Bennett ended in 79th place for the tournament. He earned $39,500! Crazy stuff.

❌ Maxx Crosby’s Inspiring Story to the Top!

On March 11th, 2020, Raiders pass-rusher Maxx Crosby visited a rehabilitation facility to help battle his ongoing problems with alcohol addiction. Poetically, almost 5 years later to the day he signed a contract that was the largest Non-QB contract in NFL history! Unbelievable!

Everybody is battling. Everybody. After his rookie year, you would have thought Maxx Crosby was on top of the world. He had just had a great rookie campaign with the then Oakland Raiders, he came 2nd in Rookie of the Year voting, he totaled 10 sacks and looked to one day be a cornerstone of the Raiders franchise, yet there was much more behind the scenes.

In the offseason, he reverted back to who he was in High School and College. He partied to an unimaginable extent in the offseason, not just for fun, but because he felt like he needed to. There’s too much of the story to properly cover it here, but he’s done interviews and podcasts regarding his past, and the turning point he remembers that brought him to his sobriety.

Even those who you think are on top may be battling. It was unbelievably courageous of Maxx to detail his past a couple of years ago, many would try to hide that part of them. He instead embraced it as who he had been, and used it as a reminder of why he plays the game.

Just yesterday Crosby signed a 3-year, $106.5-million deal with the Raiders that includes $91.5 million guaranteed. Again, this will make him the highest paid non-QB in NFL history.

It’s incredible how the difference between being on top of the world and being at rock bottom is just how much of the story you know! Everybody has something, Maxx said the biggest thing is just stacking days, one day at a time, no matter what it is you want to accomplish.

🏈⚡️ Chargers Release Joey Bosa!

Man oh man. Joey Bosa was due for a $12.3 million bonus next Wednesday, and now after nine seasons with the Chargers he was just released in a major cap space move. This now creates $25.3 million in space for Harbaugh and the LA Chargers in Year 2. A big shake up in the free agent market! Here’s more on the release of Bosa!

🍀 Pritchard and White Combine for 84!

Yeah, you read that right! No Tatum, no Porzingis, no Holiday, NO PROBLEM for Boston! Last night Boston got the win over the Portland Trail Blazers, 128-118, and it was behind the heroics of two GLUE GUYS. Payton Pritchard had a career high 43 points, knocking down 10 3s in the process. If that wasn’t enough Derrick White tacker on 41 of his own with 9 3s! An absolute wild day for the two. Think about all of the great Celtics in Boston history. This was the first time two Celtics had 40 in the same game, and it was PRITCHARD AND WHITE! WOW! “Major, major ONIONS!” Only right to start with that as Bill Raftery was on the call! That was a classic Big East game with Grit, Intensity, and an Electric Finish! Alex Karaban led the way for the Huskies with 21 points and 7 rebounds, including the DAGGER 3 with 22 seconds remaining. A big win for UConn in terms of Big East Tourney seeding. The calendar has turned to a new month…ALL BEWARE! Here are the highlights!

🟢 🔵 D.K. Metcalf Requests Trade!

With one year left on his contract, D.K. Metcalf has requested a trade out of Seattle. Now the Seahawks are without two of their top three WRs from last year after the release of Tyler Lockett as well. A new era will be starting in the Seattle WR room, most likely revolving around Jaxon Smith-Njigba. We’ll have to stay tuned to see where Metcalf ends up! More on the D.K. Metcalf trade request.
