🐐 Jordan Really Retires

There comes a time when even the greatest players have to hang them up and move onto the next adventure. While it’s usually a sad moment, it’s a moment to celebrate history.
On this day in 2003, Washington Wizards’ Michael Jordan plays his final NBA game in Philadelphia, where he receives a 3 minute standing ovation. Jordan retires as the greatest winner and player to ever win the game.

Trae Young Ejection
🏀 How We React to Adversity…

This series of events to end Trae Young’s night last night in the Hawks Play-In game against the Magic was one of the funnier things I’ve seen in a while. Here’s a quick breakdown…
Trae Young may not be the biggest guy on the block, but somehow he plays the postseason villain role so so well! The infamous bow at MSG will be remembered by Knicks fans forever. He can only be this villain because of the fact that he backs up the talk. There are a few guys who step it up and become killers in the postseason. Ice Trae has shown to be that guy.
Yesterday did not go his way for a majority of the game. The Hawks were down 20 in the blink of an eye. That being said, they went on a WILD second half run to bring the lead all the way down to 3. This was all Trae. The ball was in his hands every possession and he made the right decision.
I’m not here to go on any more about his play. The lead ballooned up to 15 again late, and he was frustrated. What he did next is something unreal.
He megged a defended. Hit a floater. Chucked a ball at the ref. Received a technical. Walked away. Stole the ball as one ref passed it to another. Faked out the ref with a pass. Got another tech. Was ejected. And rolled the ball away from the second ref.
That series of events has never happened in the history of basketball. Ever.
Why do I share this with you? I’m not sure. In the heat of the moment, things happen. How we handle ourselves when the fire is at its hottest is what defines us. Nobody is perfect, but the resolve we show to stay calm, cool, and collected, even when we are tested is what people will remember.
This goes so well with what we saw from Justin Rose this past week. I simply can’t get over how classy he was in defeat. I never lie to you guys, he’s a better man than me. I would’ve been heated. I strive to become that good at handling that. One day at a time! As all things are!
There. There’s my deep thought of the day! Hope you enjoy! Stay calm, cool, and collected today. For us! :)
The Hot Stove

🏀 First Two Play-In Games! Stud and Dud!
We had the first two play-in games last night. One winner and one snoozer, let’s go over the important stuff!
The first game of the night was the Magic vs Hawks. The was the standard blowout comeback blowout formula. The scriptwriters have used this many times before and to be honest with you, it’s overplayed. I would’ve loved some creativity here but hey, it’s the play-in, I’m sure thy’ve been busy with the playoff writing, so that was that. The Magic looked good man. They’ve got some studs and some glue guys off the bench! I know the Celtics are who they are, but I could absolutely see that series going 6 games. They are a gritty bunch!
The feature attraction was the nightcap! Warriors vs Grizzlies. This thing was WIRE 2 WIRE! I’ll tell you what, the Jimmy Butler trade might have been shrug worthy a month ago, but my god is it something to watch come postseason time. I mean I turned just yesterday and said, this is when playoff Jimmy will probably come out of the woodworks. Playoff Jimmy had 38 points, 7 rebounds, and 6 assists. SHEESH. He had to have led scoring by a mile right? Nope. Steph had 37 and 8 as well! This duo is going to be a handful this postseason. They may be the two seed heading into Houston, but I like them to come out of that series, and I don’t think that’s a hot take! Big things ahead!
🏈 Colorado To Retire Sanders, Hunter’s, #s!
Just wanted to throw this one on your desk this morning. The Colorado Buffs have decided that their soon-to-be first round duo of Shadeur Sanders and Travis Hunter will have their numbers retired. The ceremony will take place next Saturday at their Spring Game. Hey, the comments are going off on this one talking about their accomplishments, and I guess if you look at numbers they have a good point. I’m a lover, not a hater, so I won’t anything about……..but lol.
