STUMP STORY OF THE DAY✍️
Wild Throwback Today…‘Linsanity’
Talk about out of absolutely nowhere. We’re talking Linsanity today.

You know there’s so much we could talk about. And out of about the hundred things I could have gone with today I honestly have no clue with why this is was the final verdict. But it is.
You know those meme’s that show Vince McMahon getting emotional and the text says, ‘Dad, how good was LeBron James?’ Well yesterday my sister asked me, what was up with all that Jeremy Lin stuff 10 years ago. Well that opened the floodgates for storytime.
A run that seemed like it laster a year only was all of two weeks. After 4 seasons at Harvard, Jeremy Lin was not selected in the 2010 NBA Draft. He was picked up by the Warriors but never found his place. He was waived by both them as well as the Houston Rockets. For his second year he found himself on the New York Knicks as what he said was the ‘12th to 15th guy on the roster’.
How he went from that to becoming one of Time’s most influential people in the world just a year later could be one of the greatest comeback stories of all time. You would think it was a movie. He was sleeping on a teammates couch, most likely soon to be cut, but was given a chance.
On Feb. 4th, 2012, Lin and the Knicks faced off against the Brooklyn Nets in what Lin’s agent told him could possibly be his last NBA game. He came off the bench and scored a jaw-dropping 17 points.
This was the first of New York’s 7 wins in a row.
Being in NYC during this time, I won’t lie and say that I was a die hard Knicks fan at the time, because I wasn’t. But anybody in New York will tell you that there was a buzz. The winter days seemed to not be as cold, the vendor’s hot dogs seemed to taste a little better, and yellow cab drivers seemed to be following all traffic laws.
After his 17 point performance, Jeremy Lin was inserted into the starting lineup where he went on to have 136 points in his first 5 starts (5 wins by the way). This was the greatest point total (and still is) by an NBA player in their first 5 starts ever. More than Jordan. More than LeBron. More than Kobe.
It was a magical. This was the peak of his career but on this Monday I thought why not talk about a past moment of Magic. Monday Magic.
Here’s a full link to all highlights from that run. This has consistently become a once a year watch for me.
If Lin could go from a couch to Time magazine, than we too can achieve more than we even dream possible. Happy Monday. Go do it!

Quote of the Day
![]() | “I wanna kiss you. I couldn’t care less about the team struggling.” Joe Namath Not sure if this is the best mindset to have as a professional athlete, but it sure makes me wonder what Joe Namath did in his spare time. |
Song of the Day

Glue Guy of the Day
Defined: Glue Guy (Noun, Verb, Adj., etc.) - a person, thing, idea, or thought that holds together the larger group. Not the star, not the main character, but a hard hat and lunch pale type who knows its role. The GLUE of the group.
![]() | The Mini Hoop My personal dunk contest awaits. This one made me sure I was headed to the NBA as soon as I turned 18. When friends came over for mini hoop contests, basketball moreso turned to a wrestling match. |
