American Showdown Set for U.S. Open Semifinal 🎾 

Yesterday we had two quarterfinal matchups on the Men’s side of the US Open. In both matchups, we had an American, and in both of them, the American won! We will have an American in the US Open Final for the first time since 2006!!! (Shoutout Andy Roddick)

Taylor Fritz and Frances Tiafoe have both become fan favorites these last two weeks and now only one of them will be able to advance to their first ever Grand Slam Final! We are in for an absolute treat on Friday Night!

If that wasn’t enough stars and stripes tennis juice for you, we’ve got one more. On the Women’s side of the draw Emma Navarro has also advanced to the semifinals and today Jessica Pegula has a chance at a major STUMPSET against World No. 1 Iga Swiatek. There is a possibility of 4 Americans in the US Open semifinals!

🏒 Leon Draisaitl: Paid.

One half of the power duo of Leon Draisaitl and Connor McDavid is now officially locked in for the long term with the Edmonton Oilers. Draisaitl and the hockey club agreed to a historic 8-year, $114 million deal yesterday morning.

The deal makes Draisaitl the highest paid player in the salary cap era of the NHL. The deal carries a $14 million annual value, which $750,000 larger than the second highest paid player in the NHL, Auston Matthews of the Toronto Maple Leafs.

The 2019-2020 NHL MVP has 850 points in 719 career games during 10 seasons. Since he entered the league, he is third in total points behind his teammate Connor McDavid and Tampa Bay Lightning winger Nikita Kucherov.

🏈 Trent Williams restructures deal for $82.6M

Well it seems like with one day left before the start of the 2024 NFL Season there are only a few dominos left to fall. The Ceedee deal happened, the Aiyuk deal happened, and now Trent Williams has thrown his name in the restructured contract bag.

His deal is now 3 years, $82.66 Million. He had been absent from team activities while trying to figure this out. Now all of us football fans and fantasy managers await the news out of Cincinnati and Ja’Marr Chase. It seems like his contract negotiations could sideline him from Week 1 against the Pats if a deal is not struck.

⚾️ Wyatt Langford’s 2024 Season

There’s a 22-year-old on the Texas Rangers who has now done something that has only ever been done by Jackie Robinson.

Yesterday Wyatt Langford hit a Walk-off Grand Slam against the New York Yankees. Well yes, that is awesome, but it’s not the historic part.

Now this season Langford has hit for the Cycle, hit an Inside-the-park HR, and a Walk-off Grand Slam. Have a YEAR Wyatt Langford! Wyatt has done this at the age of 22 and Robinson did it in 1948 at the age of 29.
