WOW! A game that will go down in the books last night in Game 1 of the World Series. Unreal start, middle, and end! It was Freddie Freeman who will go down as the Game 1 HERO! Outside of that we had some MAJOR and minor performances in the NBA, a Rangers contract extension, and the announcement that Tua will be making his return. Buckle up for a full slate of college football!
Today’s Trivia🧠
Who is the only player to win the World Series MVP three times?
(answer at the bottom of the Stump!)
On This Day…

⚾ On this day in 2018, the longest World Series game in MLB history takes place. The game between the Red Sox and Dodgers lasted for 18 innings and total time of 7 hours and 20 minutes.
The Dodgers ended up winning 3-2 thanks to a Max Muncy walk-off home run in the bottom of the 18th inning. The Red Sox went on to win the World Series, but the Dodgers were winners on that long night in LA.
Today’s Featured Story…
⚾ Freddie Freaking Freeman

Wow, wow, wow. Talk about a fun one! But I’ll tell you what: the baseball world got to see one of the best in baseball hit one of the biggest homers of the season.
I’m going to keep this one short and sweet tonight. The game of baseball really works in mysterious ways. When Shohei Ohtani stepped to the plate in the 10th inning, the whole world thought that it was his time to shine. Nope. Wrong.
Two batters later, it was Freddie Freeman’s time to shine. The former NL MVP and one of the greatest hitters of the generation has been battling a serious ankle injury that has limited his ability to run the bases, play the field, and just be an all-around ball player.
Freeman is one of, if not the nicest, players in the league. He’s just a blast to watch play the game. He loves being out there, is an unreal teammate, and just one of the guys you love to see succeed. All that accounted for, he’s also an unbelievable player.
Freddie not only battled the ankle injury this year, but a serious illness of his youngest child. The Freeman family has had one crazy year, but I’m sure all those challenges were worth the feeling Freddie and his family had as he was rounding the bases after hitting a walk-off grand slam to send the Dodgers home victorious in game one of the World Series.
For a guy who sometimes is forgotten about on this roster full of former MVPs and huge names, Freeman is Mr. Consistent. A season full of challenges was met with the challenge of the game on the line for Freddie, and he once again answered the gosh darn bell.
Yesterday, In a Nutshell

🏈 Tua Tagovailoa is officially making his comeback. The Dolphins QB is set to make his return this weekend after clearing concussion protocol. Tua mulled retirement following his most recent head injury, but the former first-round pick has decided to strap it up once again.
⚾ The LA Dodgers WIN Game 1 of the World Series, 6-3, in 10! It was a walk-off Grand Slam by Freddie Freeman that gave the Dodgers the win! If this was any indication, we are in for a great series!
🏀 The New York Knicks handled the Indiana Pacers in a rematch of the Eastern Conference Semifinals. Pacers star Tyrese Haliburton was a NO SHOW as he scored a big fat GOOSE EGG! It’s a long season, but your star scoring zero points is never fun.
🏒 The New York Rangers and their star winger Alexis Lafreniere, the No. 1 pick in the 2020 NHL draft, have agreed to a seven-year contract extension that will carry an average of $7.45 million a year. The deal runs through the 2031-32 season. Last season was a massive breakout year for the former No. 1 pick, who had 28 goals and 29 assists, along with 14 points in the playoffs.
🏀 Lakers head coach JJ Reddick announced yesterday that Bronny James will spend the season split between the NBA roster and with the franchise’s G League affiliate, the South Bay Lakers. Reddick did not shy away from the fact that the plans can change, and that it will be a fluid situation. Probably a good idea to get Bronny some serious playing time at a lower level for now.

Idk maybe it’s just the World Series working through me, but nobody tell me that a stolen base can’t juice up a squad like no other!
Trivia Answer:
E. None of the above! No player has EVER won the MVP of the World Series three times. The only players to do it twice are Sandy Koufax and Reggie Jackson!
