Day one of the NBA and NHL Playoffs. Buckle up, LETS RIDE! A 15-year-old made a pro-golf cut?! Theirs a stacked leaderboard at the RBC Heritage and the boys are rolling heading into day 3 of the tournament. Oh, and by the way, Manny Ramirez is still hitting BOMBS!
LETS. GET. INTO. IT.
THE DAILY STUMPED🔮
What is the most goals scored by one player in an NHL game?Hint: This record has stood since 1920! |
ON THIS DAY 🗓️
On this day in 1986…
Chicago Bulls’ young superstar Michael Jordan set an NBA playoff record (which still stands) with 63 points against the Boston Celtics.
The Celtics ended up winning the game, 135-131 in double OT, and eventually the series. That Celtics team had 5 future Hall of Famers. It was just the beginning for MJ.
STUMP STORY OF THE DAY✍️
Miles Russell, 15, Makes Cut on Korn Ferry Tour
When he’s not taking his online High School classes in Jacksonville Beach, FL, 15-year-old Miles Russell is not only playing on the Korn Ferry Tour, but he’s becoming the youngest player of all time to make the cut on tour!
The Korn Ferry Tour is like the Minor Leagues for Golf’s biggest stage, the PGA Tour. Before becoming marquee names in the golf world, players have to prove their worth in ‘the minors’ for lack of a better term. Although mentioned less, we still see a ton of phenomenal golf played on the tour and we see the next wave of great golfers before they become great.
Just yesterday, we saw Miles go absolutely sicko mode to post a score of 66 (after shooting a 68 on Thursday). He is at 8-under going into the weekend and is tied for 24th. He is currently 6 back of the leader Brandon Crick (who just for comparison’s sake, is 36 years old, more than DOUBLE Miles’ age).
Being good at golf is nothing new for Miles, he is the AJGA (American Junior Golf Association) No. 1 ranked golfer for a reason, but doing it at the Korn Ferry Tour and making a cut is unprecedented.
When asked about the record he said, “It’s a cool record, and hopefully it will get broken.”
This was Miles’ first-ever PGA Tour-sanctioned tournament appearance and he is absolutely killing it, and showing how much he belongs. As if his day one 66 was not impressive enough. He opened Friday’s play with 2 Eagles on the front 9!
Are you kidding me? The closest I’ve ever been to an eagle is the back of a quarter!
Again, no surprise for Russell, last year he won the AJGA Player of the Year award. Youngest since…
Yup, you guessed it, Tiger Woods.
So what does this made cut mean for Miles? It means he gets two more days to see how he shapes up against professionals, and if he finishes in the top 25, he gets an auto-entry to next week’s Veritex Bank Championship in Dallas.
There are always new stars in sports to follow, but there’s something that draws me to Miles that’s different from others. Maybe it’s his humbleness. Maybe it’s his calm demeanor and his professional attitude. Maybe it’s just the fact that he’s 15 years old and is holding his own against the pros.
All I know is I’ll be following the rest of this tournament more than any other Korn Ferry Tour event ever before!
Keep it up Miles, let’s go send shockwaves in the world of golf!
🎙️SONG OF THE DAY
My Hometown - Odhran Murphy
We gotta give Odhran his flowers, he has been marketing the heck out of this song for a month. Been posting a teaser of it every day for a month, and I’ll say this: it’s a BIT overrated. Granted, it’s still the song of the day because it’s new and we’re on it early before it blows up!

Glue Guy of the Day👷🚧
Garage Fridge
The Garage Fridge! Why do so many people have these?? A bottle of water hit SO different out of this fridge. Right above your Dad’s 30-rack of whatever gritty light beer he drinks on the weekends. I feel like it’s always just drinks in this thing. Not sure why this exists. But boy oh boy does it exist in middle America. So glue.
