ON THIS DAY 🗓️
On this day in 1997…
NJ Devils Goalie Martin Brodeur becomes the second goalie in NHL history to score in a playoff game.
He is the only goalie to score 3 goals in his career. There have been 18 goalie goals in NHL history, but nobody has scored in the playoffs since Brodeur did it in ‘97.
Here’s a link to the beauty that is the goal: LINK
STUMP STORY OF THE DAY✍️
Jack Edwards (Boston Bruins)
Two Voices in Two Days
In the last 48 hours, two staples of radio broadcasting have called it a career. While radio broadcasts are often overlooked nowadays, for many, these voices were what they grew up listening to during gametime. A familiar voice that to many, feels like home.
John Sterling, New York Yankees, Radio Broadcaster
John Sterling, who had just begun his 36th season as the Voice of the Yankees, and his 65th year in broadcasting, has decided to call it quits due to immediate health concerns. In his own way, Sterling informed and entertained crowds, and he exemplified what it meant to be a New Yorker. He was unapologetic, exuberant, and passionate for his Yankees.
Sterling grew famous in recent years for his famous home run calls, personalized for each player, “a Judgian Blast!”, or “An A-Bomb.. from A-Rod!”. you may know him by his famous signature “Thhhhhhhhhhhhhuuuuuuuuhhhh YANKEEEEEEES Win!”
He had an unmistakable one-of-a-kind voice, and his old fashioned style of broadcasting never wavered, even as the game he was calling did. Yankees broadcasts won’t be the same without him. In an era where radio can sometimes be forgotten, it will be some time before Yankees fans forget Mr. Sterling.
Jack Edwards, Boston Bruins, Play-by-Play
After 19 years as NESN’s play-by-play voice of the Boston Bruins, and 45-years in sports journalism, Jack Edwards is hanging up the headset. A lifelong Bruins fan, Jack was noticeably passionate about his team. He was aggressive, pulled no punches, and energetic.
Many may know Jack from his 12 years at ESPN as an anchor for SportsCenter. In recent years, Edwards has been dealing with speech issues that have forced him out of the booth. His speech has been slowing, which in hockey, is a struggle.
Famous for his phrases “tumbling muffin” and “HIGH above the ice”, his voice is distinct for any Bruins fan. Fortunately, he will call Bruins games throughout the Stanley Cup Playoffs. For our sake, let’s hope the Bruins make a long run and we can hear his voice for a few more periods.
🎙️SONG OF THE DAY
In the Heart of the City (Ain’t No Love) - Jay-Z
It’s Wednesday. Let’s pick up the vibes. If you want to feel an absolute BADASS walking around, turn this up LOUD. You will feel like the man (or woman). This song makes me want to lift heavy weights.

“‘You miss 100% of the shots you don’t take - Wayne Gretzky’ - CJ McCollum “
CJ McCollum had a ROUGH night for the Pelicans. In a night when they needed him most, he was tough to watch. After averaging over 30 points a game in his last 7 games, he was 1-7 in a close game!
