LETS. GET. INTO. IT.

THE DAILY STUMPED🔮

ON THIS DAY 🗓️

On this day in 2003…

Micheal Jordan plays his final game in the NBA as a member of the Washington Wizards.

He received a three-minute standing ovation from the crowd. We can argue whether he’s the goat or not, but his Wizards years are extremely underrated, he averaged 20+ points and 5+ rebounds a game over two years.

STUMP STORY OF THE DAY✍️

Team USA: Fully Loaded

There was the Dream Team, then the Redeem Team, and now the to be named later 2024 Paris Olympics USA Men’s Basketball Team. I’d wager a pretty hefty bet that LeBron has some corny nickname that he is ready to tweet out, so I’ll let him handle that piece of the group project.

After an extremely disappointing 2023 FIBA World Cup run for Team USA, which ended in a loss to Canada and a fourth-place finish, some of the NBA’s most recognizable superstars were ready to commit to the Olympic team.

While the 2023 FIBA team was talented, they were inexperienced at the international level, lacked true star power, and just seemed all out of sorts all tournament long.

Going into Paris, Team USA will surely not lack star power. The team currently has 11 of its 12 roster spots filled:

  • LeBron James

  • Steph Curry

  • Kevin Durant

  • Devin Booker

  • Jayson Tatum

  • Jrue Holiday

  • Joel Embiid

  • Anthony Davis

  • Bam Adebayo

  • Anthony Edwards

  • Tyrese Haliburton

Good luck everybody else! That is a DEEP roster full of experienced NBA Superstars. Kevin Durant is Team USA’s all-time leading scorer and has three gold medals. Every player on the roster, other than NBA MVP Joel Embiid, has some sort of international playing experience.

As for the 12th and final roster spot, it’s speculated that if healthy, the spot belongs to Kawhi Leonard. On the outside looking in are Paul George, Mikal Bridges, Paolo Banchero, and Jalen Brunson.

Team USA is looking for their fifth-straight Olympic Gold, and while the FIBA World Cup was a major disappointment and possibly a wake up call for some NBA Stars, it seems as if the band is back together. The roster is stacked with talent while also being extremely balanced.

My X-Factor for this roster: Tyrese Haliburton. He’s perfect for this level of competition. He has tremendous size and speed, while also being a very effective defender. He will be the exact role player this team needs, he’ll pass, play defense, and get rebounds.

🎙️SONG OF THE DAY

Listen to the Music - The Doobie Brothers

Pure upbeat vibes. You CANNOT be sad listening to this song. I want to shake the Doobie Brothers’ hands. Not only is it a phenomenal name for a group, they know how to put together a tune.

Glue Guy of the Day👷🚧

NBA Playoff Play-In 10 Seeds

Today starts the NBA Play In Tournament, and these 10-seeds are GLUE! On one side of the bracket, you have the Warriors in the 10: the epitome of basketball success over the past decade. But they’ve fallen on hard times, can they make a run? On the other side, you have the Atlanta Hawks. They won 36 games this year. UGLY. They would be the team to make a run and ruin everything for everyone. GLUE!
