What Caught Our Eye👀

STUMP STORY OF THE DAY✍️

“They Can’t Win With Both”

The Boston Celtics have believed in their two stars, and though it took time, it finally has paid off!

The Brooklyn Nets and the Boston Celtics, basically like peanut butter and jelly! When the Nets traded for Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce and in exchange gave the Celtics what seemed to be an endless amount of draft picks, all that was thought of it was that it was a bad trade.

Those picks turned into Jaylen Brown (No. 3 Overall) in 2016 and then Jayson Tatum (No. 3 Overall) in 2017. In year one it was apparent how good they could really become, but there were flashes. After countless bouts with LeBron, Giannis, other East teams on the comeup, and the Miami Heat, people wondered if they could win with their two drafted stars.

The narrative was also forced onto us that they couldn’t do it, they wouldn’t be able to close. They got their first taste of the finals just a couple of years ago against the Golden State Warriors. They even went up 2 games to 1. They ended up losing the series and Tatum and Brown were hit with hundreds of ‘they can’t win a title’ proclamations.

Well, just a few years later they have finally won their first NBA Title.

Are people going to try and take this title away from them? Absolutely, they are going to say that they ran through a very weak Eastern Conference flooded with injuries, and then beat an overachieving Mavericks team in the Finals!

The NBA community always seems to share negative opinions before positive, and that’s just how the cookie crumbles sometimes. But no matter what they say, Brown, Tatum, and the Boston Celtics are NBA Champions!

Shoutout to Al Horford who was able to get his first title in his 17-year career.

And another shoutout to Joe Mazzulla who at just 35 years of age was able to get his team focused and on track ready for the postseason.

“They can’t win together” is what they said! Well, they did! Congrats Boston! You are once again a city of Champions!

Quote of the Day

“WE DID IT.“

Jayson Tatum

For all the hate this guy gets, good for you Jayson! You are a champion!

Song of the Day

Stop This Train

John Mayer

Not sure if we’ve tapped into any J Mayer yet. Well, today, is that day. So many to pick from. Tried to find one that is not super sad or depressing, so I found this little gem.

Glue Guy of the Day

Defined: Glue Guy (Noun, Verb, Adj., etc.) - a person, thing, idea, or thought that holds together the larger group. Not the star, not the main character, but a hard hat and lunch pale type who knows its role. The GLUE of the group.

Comfort Water Bottle

For me, it’s a little red guy. For others, it’s the yeti or the stanley cup. Whatever your brand or color or size may be, we all have that water bottle we love. Keeps us hydrated, keeps us sane. Glue.
