STUMP STORY OF THE DAY✍

Bayer Leverkusen: Undefeated and Unquestioned!
The German Football Club Bayer Leverkusen did something no other team in German Soccer history has ever done before: they ended the season undefeated. With their 2-1 defeat over Augsburg yesterday, they officially became the champions of the 2023-2024 Bundesliga season.
They clinched their 28th win of the season, to go along with 6 total draws, they managed to amass 90 points. That is the second highest point total in the Bundesliga era, only trailing the 2012-2013 Bayern Munich squad that finished the year with 91 points.
Not only have they been undefeated in Bundesliga play, they have been undefeated across all competitions. They reached the German Cup and Europa League final during this time, as well.
This is only the 8th time in European soccer history that a team has finished the season unbeaten (Only including Europe’s Big-Five Leagues). This list dates back to Preston in 1888-89, and the most recent team was Juventus in 2011-12.
When Leverkusen drew Roma in the Europa League semi-finals earlier this month, the German side ensured they went 49 game in a row unbeaten, securing the longest streak without losing to a European club since the introduction of UEFA in 1955.
With their title cliniching win yesterday, they ended Bayern Munich’s 11-straight Bundesliga titles. They will face Kaiserslautern in the German Cup Final on May 25th and Atalanta in the Europa League Final on May 22 to continue their remarkable streak.

Three-Point Celebrations

I feel like over the years these have gotten so funny and creative. Brunson’s three point celly is one of the best-kept secrets in all of basketball. Nobody knows what it means. I’m a fan of the classic three-fingers to the side of the head, but that’s just me.
DAILY STUMPED ANSWER
D. Dirk Nowitzki, who is originally from Germany, scored a total of 31,600 points. This is good enough for 6th all time. The second best international scorer was Hakeem Olajuwon, who scored just under 27,000 career points.
