What Caught Our Eye👀

STUMP STORY OF THE DAY✍️

Loyalty is Only Worth a Paycheck

Hours after vowing not to leave his job, a bigger pay check came calling for this college baseball coach.

Jim Schlossnagle (elite name), who just led Texas A&M to it’s first Men’s College World Series championships series, is officially leaving the school to become the next head coach at in-state rival University of Texas. Schlossnagle went 135-62 in his three years at A&M, and his 53 wins was good enough for the second-most wins in program history.

Schlossnagle was the head coach at a different Texas school, TCU, from 2004-2021. New Texas Athletic Director, Chris Del Conte, was the AD at TCU while Schlossnagle was the head baseball coach. The two will reunite in Austin this upcoming year.

Now this is all fine and dandy, seems pretty quid pro quo for college athletics. So what’s the problem?

Well, lets start with Schlossnagles post game presser following Texas A&M’s loss in the championship. Schlossnagle vowed to not be leaving the Aggies, and that he left his family and TCU to coach at A&M for the rest of his career. He claimed that he has no intentions to leave for any reason. He was committed to a long career in College Station, Texas.

Here’s an even grosser quote to make you hate this guy after he was asked about the Texas job:

“I took the job at Texas A&M to never take another job again, and that hasn’t changed in my mind. That’s unfair to talk about something like that. I gave up a big part of my life to come take this job, and I’ve poured every ounce of my soul in this job. And I’ve given this job every single ounce I could possible give it. So write that.”

This sound like a guy who is pissed at the thought someone would even think he is leaving. Except he knows he’s leaving. Imagine the balls you have to have to say that with a straight face. You just lied to everyone. To your players, your fans, your other coaches, the media, everyone. There is no loyalty.

How can a guy like this expect loyalty from his players to not enter the transfer portal? It’s insane. A double standard. Privileged. Yeah, if you couldn’t tell, this pissed me off.

Sorry Jim, but I hope the Longhorn fans eat you alive.

JUICE STATION🧃

Quote of the Day

“You can’t look at a glass half full or half empty if it’s overflowing.“

Kanye West

Not sure how to take this one, but it’s before Kanye went nuclear so there’s some sort of common sense in there. Take it as you want. Have a nice day!

Song of the Day

Goodnight Chicago

Rainbow Kitten Surprise

Other than this being a great song, I’ll never get over the name of this band. Their name along is electric. It’s a plus they make good tunes.

Glue Guy of the Day

Defined: Glue Guy (Noun, Verb, Adj., etc.) - a person, thing, idea, or thought that holds together the larger group. Not the star, not the main character, but a hard hat and lunch pale type who knows its role. The GLUE of the group.

Phone Flashlight

IPhones, Androids, Etc.

This may be one of the more underappreciated features of the new generations of cell phones. I use my flashlight all the time, not sure about any of you. They just don’t get the recognition they deserve.
