š Stolen Base in Game 1,097

Theirs been a lot of guys who have played in the MLB, and each of them have their strengths and weaknesses. For Cecil Fielder, his strength was his power. One of his strength was most certainly not his speed, but on one beautiful day, he quieted the haters.
On this day in 1996, Detroit Tigers legend Cecil Fielder stole his first career base in his 1,097th career game. It was the longest duration a player has went in his professional career without logging a stolen base. Guy was an absolute beast and on this day in baseball history, he quieted the haters that say big guys canāt run!

š Tiger Woods Broke The Internet

Carmen Mandato // Getty Images
Tiger Woods is one of the few athletes in the world that has the ability to break the internet with just a single tweet, post, quote, or news alert. Yesterday, even though heās recovering from a torn Achilles, he was still able to have a little fun.
Tiger took to X and posted the following, āI canāt believe I am saying this, but a few weeks after rupturing my left Achilles, the sleeping in a hyperbaric chamber plus the explosive lifts, my doctors and trainers have me ready to play the Masters next week!ā
The sports world went into a tizzy. Tiger at the Masters? Thatās lunacy! But the fun was short lived. Tiger followed up his tweet with another message, āP.S. April Fools my Achilles is still a mess :)ā. Brutal.
The 15-time major champion has not been a participant in a PGA event since The Open Championship in July of last year. He did, however, participate in the PNC Championship with his son, Charlie, this past December and was an active member and competed with Jupiter Links GC of the TGL.
Woods announced his Achilles injury last month while he was ramping up training and practice in his Florida home in preparation for next weeksā Masters. While it was short lived, this goes to show the type of strangle hold that this man still has on the sport of golf. Iād even sit here and argue that at this point, Tiger Woods IS golf.
Despite his poor play in recent years, heās still must see TV. People want to see Tiger Woods, even if itās a glimmer of what he used to be, they want that little piece. They want to say they saw him, or talk about him, or just say his dang name. He is an enormous personality, one that we very rarely see in the sport of golf.
While Tigers return to PGA Tour golf may not be next weekend, everyone is holding out hope that it will be ONE weekend. Tiger, like nobody else, has the capability to shut down the internet, and I can promise you that the internet will not handle his official comeback well. Itāll be a crap chute.

šļø Wooden Award Finalists Announced
The Wooden Award honors the best player in menās and womenās college basketball in a given year, and yesterday, the committee announced their finalists.
Womenās Ball: In the womenās game, 3 of the 5 finalists come from Final Four teams. UConnās Paige Bueckers, UCLAās Lauren Betts, and Madison Booker of Texas are all finalists who still have games to play. The other two, Notre Dameās Hannah Hidalgo and USCās JuJu Watkins, both saw their teams go home in the Elite Eight. Bueckers is the only one on the list who has one the award previously, as she was the winner in 2021. Caitlin Clark won the award last season.
Menās Ball: Of the five finalists, there are two with more basketball. Dukeās Cooper Flagg and Auburnās Johni Broome, the presumptive favorites, are both on Final Four teams. The list is rounded out by Floridaās Walter Clayton Jr., Alabamaās Mark Sears, and Purdueās Braden Smith. Flagg has been the betting favorite in recent weeks, but Broome has put together one of the most dominant seasons in Auburn history. His midseason ankle injury hurt some of his momentum.
š Time to Watch Every Ovechkin Game
The sports world has been tracking Alex Ovechkinās pursuit of Wayne Gretzkyās career goal mark closely over the season, but itās time for the rest of us to tap in. After last nights goal in the Capitals win over the Boston Bruins, Ovechkin pulled within three goals of tying the record. Sitting at 891 career goals, simple math would tell us that 895 will break the record. The Capitals currently have eight more games in the regular season, but sit atop of their division and are poised for a big time run at the Stanley Cup. Ovi and the Caps play tonight on TNT against Hurricanes, so it will be pretty easy to watch along.
I donāt know your opinion on the Capitals and Alex Ovechkin, and frankly, I do not care. Ovechkin is, as it currently stands, 4 goals shy of being the best scorer in the history of the sport. Players like him do not come around very often, or frankly at all. So put away your feelings about it, and just sit back and watch greatness.
š Steph, Jokic, go NUCLEAR!
We had some Western playoff teams facing off last night are their fire FIREWORKS! Warriors def. Grizzlies, 134-125. Iāll tell you what, this is not a team you want to face in the postseason. I donāt care who you are, if Steph and Jimmy are on the side, thatās a tall task. Especially when Steph still has it in him to go for 52 points, 10 rebounds, and 8 assists, off of 12 made threes! Jimmy tacked on 27 and Draymond notched a 13, 12, 10 triple-double. This team could stumpset somebody in the playoffs for sure. Next up we had a DOUBLE OT instnat classic that ended at 1:10 AM ET. It was Nuggets-Timberwolves that ended 140-139 in favor of Minnesota! The Nugs were without Jamal Murray and MPJ, but Nikola Jokic put on his cape to still have 61 points, 10 rebounds, and 10 assists. The Timberwolves are another team you DO NOT want to face off in the postseason! This might have been the regular season game of the year, watch the highlights here!
