On This Day
đ The 32nd NBA Championship (1978)

As we still digest what happened in Game 1 of this years NBA Finals, letâs take a look back 47 years ago when a series went the distance!
On this day in 1978, the Washington Bullets defeated the Seattle Supersonics in Game 7 of the Finals, 105-99, to capture their only NBA Championship. They went to this series 4 times in the 70s, but only got this one. Wes Unsled was named Finals MVP despite scoring 6 and then 15 points in the final two games.
In this series, 6 out of the 7 games were within 8 points! It was back-and-forth the entire time. Could we be in for a similar 7 Game slugfest this year as well?
Todayâs Trivia
Which do you find most entertaining? |
Yesterdayâs Trivia Answer: C. 3! Novak Djokovic has won the French open 3 times! Unfortunately he ran into the buzzsaw that was (1) Jannik Sinner, he lost in straight sets.

6/5/25 Glue OTD: Bus Driver
Going to keep this one nice and short for you on this Saturday. Iâm not one to make grand statements, well, actually I do tend to do that sometimes. But anyways, took a late night bus ride home and Iâll tell you what. Bus drivers may be on the Mount Rushmore of Glue Guys.
They arenât in it for them, they do it for the passengers, and they donât take b.s. from anybody. Thatâs glue.

Yesterdayâs Moments

đ Panthers Even Series at 1 in Another OT Game!
The Stump Short Story: Man, this one just gets better and better. Last year the 7 game series did not have a single OT game. This year, the rematch has had 2 of them in the first 2 games! The Oilers got the game-tying goal with 17 seconds in the 3rd period, and then it took 30 minutes of additional time to figure out a winner. Who else but Bad Marchand to score the winner in 2OT
Why it Matters: I donât want to use the words âmust-winâ lightly, but this was a very important game for the Panthers. To lose two back-to-back OT games would have been brutal for morale before making the long journey back to Florida. Now they have life!

đŸ Championship Matchup is Set at the French Open!
The Stump Short Story: The next two up has been solidfied these last 24 months. It is World No. 1 Jannik Sinner (23 years old) and World No. 2 Carlos Alcaraz (22 years old). These two have been dominating, and they will face off as hopefully they will many times in Grand Slam Finals. This truly is an unstoppable force vs an immovable object. This will be must-watch Tennis!
Why it Matters: With (6) Djokovic losing to Sinner in the semifinals, it will be a battle of the young guns! Have we officially reached the new era? Yeah, we have.
