It’s Monday folks! We hope you had a GREAT weekend, so great that the fact we’re already almost 25% done with the NFL regular season doesn’t make you sad. We had the last day of the MLB regular season yesterday for every team but two, we had some BIG WINS in the NFL, and we even saw the US win ANOTHER Presidents Cup. So let’s get into it all and get everyone caught up on what’s going on in the world of sports.
Today’s Trivia🧠

On This Day…

⚾A Babe Ruth DOUBLE DIP for you today! On this day in 1927, Yankees slugger Babe Ruth hit his MLB record (at the time) 60th Home Run in a 4-2 win over the Washington Senators in Yankee Stadium.
And then….On this day in 1934, Babe had his final game as a Yankee. He didn’t record a hit on the day but his legacy would be ever-lasting!
What’s Worth Your Time
🏈 NFL Recap: Vikings Are Here to Stay

A couple of teams move to 4-0, one to 0-4, some STUMPSETS, and a new star continues to shine! A whole lot to go over from yesterday’s action!
The Vikings move to 4-0 in a 31-29 victory over the Green Bay Packers. This was set to be a home victory in Green Bay for Jordan Love’s return. It was anything but! The Vikings POUNCED to a 28-0 lead in the first half! Despite Jordan Love's heroics, the early hole was too much to climb out of. The Vikings are a powerhouse right now!
Last Monday, we saw a star born in Cincinnati. Jayden Daniels was a machine! That continued this week for him and the Commanders against the Arizona Cardinals in a 42-14 beatdown! The No. 2 Overall pick threw a TD and ran for one as well. He now had the highest ever completion percentage for a QB in their first four starts! The Commanders are 3-1!
Bengals get first win to spoil Andy Dalton’s return! The Panthers are a completely different team from their first two weeks. They competed for four quarters. The Burrow and Chase connection however is all the way back. Bengals get their first win, 34-24!
Rapid Fire Notes: Broncos get UGLY STUMPSET over Jets, 10-9. Niners STOMP Pats, 30-13. KC moves to 4-0 with 17-10 win over the Chargers. Falcons beat the Saints with a game-winning Younghoe Koo 58 YARDER!
⛳ Presidents Cup: Americans Win 10th Straight Cup!

Today was Singles Sunday to close out the Presidents Cup. The Americans led 11-7 heading into yesterday’s finale. There were 12 total matches on Sunday and Team USA needed 4.5 points to secure the dub. Here’s how it went…
Xander Schauffele started the day off with a win over Jason Day. Expected from a 2-time major winner this year. Sam Burns then tied the fiery Tom Kim. A little bit of a STUMPSET followed with Hideki Matsuyama defeating Scottie Scheffler by 1 hole. Both teams put forward their best talent to face off against one another and Matsuyama got the best of Scheffler. Crazy thing was that he wasn’t even wearing his patented bright yellow.
This was followed by wins from Russell Henley and Patrick Cantlay, which kept the Americans just one point away from victory. With the stakes set, who stepped up to the tee? None other than next year’s Ryder Cup captain, Captain America himself, Keegan Bradley.
Keegan won 1-up on Si Woo Kim to secure the win for Team USA. The rest of the matches for the day were inconsequential but still the competitive juices were flowing. This marks the 10th straight Presidents Cup victory for the United States. The Ryder Cup next year will be an absolute SHOW!
🏀 Russell Westbrook is Ready to be Nugget!

When asked about how he has been used on his last few teams, Russell Westbrook had something interesting to say. With the landscape of Western Conference seeming open at the top, what can Russ bring to the Mile High City?
“To be honest, (my skill set) was unique, they just didn’t put me in position to make it unique. I was in a position where I was playing not my position.” This is what Russ had to say when he was asked his experiences on his last few teams. Russ isn’t your average guard. Any guard who can get 10 rebounds and runs the way Russ has in the past is definitely unique. He has a limitless tank and the expectations always seem to be monumental for him because of what we know he can do.
This year, it looks like it could be different. He’s already expressed how thrilled he is to play with Nikola Jokic, and why wouldn’t he be, anybody the Joker plays with looks better than before.
With the big splash in West this week with KAT being sent over to New York, this Russ move might go under the radar until the season starts. But a veteran presence could pay dividends down the stretch.
The only problem may be the fight for the final rebound of the game when Nikola and Russ are both one away from a triple-double.
⚽Madrid Derby Gets UGLY

Atletico Madrid and Real Madrid had a pretty ugly scene in the first matchup of the season between the two bitter rivals.
Sunday’s matchup between Madrid’s two LALIGA teams got pretty ugly in the second half after Eder Militao scored in the 64th minute. Real goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois celebrated, and Simeone (Atletico head coach) went as far to say that he taunted the fans behind the goal.
Shortly after that, fans responded to Courtois’ actions with some pretty unfortunate actions. They began to throw things onto the field, including bottles and lighters, and they were aiming for the goalie.
Play was suspended for about 20 minutes, and Atletico tied the score with a LATE 96th-minute goal to end the game in a draw. But Simeone brought up an interesting point. Is part of this on the players?
I understand and agree that the fans need to act better. Even if you are taunted, throwing things onto the field is never a good thing, it’s disrespectful to the game, it’s ugly, and it doesn’t even help your team. But at the same time, it probably isn’t the best thing in the world for players to taunt fans. Keep it classy.
⚾Big Time Rivalry Means More Today

We talked about this is a previous stump, but the day has come. An epic rivalry between two historic baseball clubs comes to a boiling point today.
I’ll tell you what, it doesn’t get much better than baseball in the fall. And when you look at the slate today, you’ll see two games. The Mets and the Braves, and then the Mets and the Braves again.
A three team tie for the last two spots in the 2024 MLB Playoffs between the Braves, Mets, and Diamondbacks will be decided today. Arizona finished 89-73 and both the Braves and Mets sit at 88-72. If either the Braves and Mets sweep the two-game set, the Diamondbacks will make it in. If the games are split, both rivals will make it in to the big dance.
The two teams have been longtime rivals, and the fanbases have some pretty serious history. I can’t think of a time when a doubleheader was the deciding factor for who makes it and who doesn’t. But I’ll say this, I’m fired up for this one. Nothing like rivals playing with the season on the line!
