STUMP STORY OF THE DAY✍

Braden Shattuck: Amateur Assassin!
If you haven’t heard, The 2024 PGA Championship was played this past weekend outside of Louisville, Kentucky at Valhalla Golf Club. The stories of Scottie Scheffler, Bryson DeChambeau, and Xander Schauffele dominated the headlines. The guy we want to talk about today: Braden Shattuck.
Every major championship usually has a few club pros in the field. (A club pro is a profession in PGA golf where a person of a certain golf skill level will apply to become a “pro” at a course or club, basically an on-site professional). These tournament spots are usually achieved by qualifications through a series of events or tournaments, so these guys are tested and earn their way into the tournament. The “low club pro” is achieved by being the lowest-scoring amateur club pro of the tournament. This past week the low club pro was, you guessed it, Braden Shattuck.
Shattuck had his eyes set on a PGA playing career until a car accident left him with herniated disks, a concussion, and nerve damage in his legs. For a while, he wasn’t even sure he’d ever play golf again. Well, his -1 at the PGA Championship shows otherwise. Shattuck railed late on Friday to make the cut, his first made cut in four attempts.
After entering the PGA Club Pro playing arena, he quickly jumped onto the scene as one of the best pros in the game. He showed that this past weekend.
While many would assume he planned to just go back to work yesterday, they’d be wrong. Shattuck drove TEN hours overnight back toward home in Philadelphia, PA. There, he played in a Pennsylvania Section Golf Event. He won the event. He shot a BOGEY-FREE 63. 9 Under Par.
This guy is an absolute MENACE. He just loves golf. And he is good. Did I forget to mention, he played yesterday on zero sleep. This dude is an amateur assassin. Hide your wife, hide your kids, ‘cause when this guy is on the course, something dangerous may happen.
🎙SONG OF THE DAY
All Summer Long - Kid Rock

Talk about a windows down song! We’ve got a high of 78 today in CT and there’s nothing like hearing Kid Rock talking about some stuff in ‘Northern Michigan’. If you know the song you get that reference. And if you don’t…LISTEN TO IT!
🎵 “It was 1989, my thoughts were short my hair was long“ 🎵
